2016 Sewing Highlights

2016MakeNine only covered a few of my sewing projects for the year.

Here are a few more of my favorites.

Christmas shirts for the littles. Fabric from Girl Charlee (a few years back, but still familiar to many). I used knit ribbing for the neckbands. The first time I made a t-shirt with Girl Charlee knit in the neckband it wasn’t stretchy enough for little heads. The pattern is Oliver and S (field trip raglan). Baby girl’s shirt was shortened a few inches and a gathered peplum added to the bottom.

A Blessing Dress for baby girl.

Undies…for my still diapered boy. Potty training is on hold while we work on food aversion therapy. I traced a pair of training pants for a pattern.

Minions – shirts and hats for Halloween. Overalls were thrifted and purchased at Old Navy.

One sewing project for compensation (babysitting). A bridesmaid dress for the daughter of a friend.

Comfy mom clothes:

Simplicity 1198 in Rayon Print and Stretch Velvet. The stretch velvet was perfect for Christmas Eve. When I make this again I will make the neckband smaller.

Burda 6846 in a beefy knit, to duplicate a favorite from last winter.

A cute t-shirt for my boy. A winning combo of art gallery knits. He wore it on his birthday. Same pattern as his birthday shirt last year!

Three building block dresses for three cousins (ages 8 months, 2, and 8 years). The girlies wore them to dinner on Christmas Eve. It was such a treat to see them all together. I got the red baby corduroy from a huge de-stash sale for $1.oo a yard.

My first stint as a pattern tester – Megan Nielsen Karri Dress.
